From my heart to yours…
I serve women
Christian women
Christian women who are descended from Africans brought to the United States as slaves.
Women who are ready to wrestle with and overcome the emotional and spiritual junk in their lives that is holding them back.
I give them the tools to identify, work through, and resolve the decontextualized traumas (living in a fallen world, carrying the burden of systemic racism, and intergenerational trauma) that have boxed them in as the “Strong Black Woman” stereotype, or her cousins – Angry, Hypersexual, System Abuser, Financially Irresponsible, Unemployable – so that they can live the abundant life that Christ promises.
If you do not see yourself in the description I just laid out, you are still most welcome here. Just know my voice and the flavor of my offerings will be an unapologetic reflection of my faith and my ethnic experience.
Why me? I’ve got:
- Master’s degree and license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
- Peer Counseling training from the International Center for Women’s Ministries
- A Certificate in Psychological First Aid from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network
- 12 years’ experience organizing advanced training for therapists with the National Association of Social Workers
- Untold hours of personal lived experience and recovery
And when I am not working with clients, writing, or speaking, I can be found
- Taking epic road trips with my husband
- Tinkering in my garden
- Enjoying a cold drink on my back patio with a friend talking about life, love, and what God is doing in our lives.
So how about you? Are you ready to dig through the junk, and identify everything that has been holding you back so you can break out of the box, and live the abundant life? Click here to add yourself to my email list.
